In the 50's and early 60's there wasn't many toys or things having to do with horses, and paint by number's at least let me enjoy something that ended up looking like the real thing!
This form of painting I believe helped me in all these years to paint better & more realistic model horses.
YES, I do occasionally open one of these and paint them, they are a nice diversion in a busy life! No, unless the paint by number's are newer, the paints are no good. It's so easy now days to just match the original paints in a kit with new paints! I do like the challenge of doing both oils on the older kit's or acrylic's on the others.
This is my current PBN collection. Some were as far back as the late 40's and are "still" in the original boxes & un-painted. Some of these piece's are VERY hard to find and I paid a lot to get certain one's for un-painted in pristine condition. These are not in any particular dated order.
After my move, I will photo some of the PBN's I have painted & enjoyed!
